25 Mon: Tim arrives in Chicago. Things Tim should do: Get a city pass, which gives you entrance into the big 5: Aquarium, Planetarium, Field museum, Sears Tower and Museum of Science and Industry. Walk along the lake front.
26 Tue: Soph comes to Chicago for the day. Meet at this lattitude and longitude: 41.878229,-87.638245. Phones at the ready incase of mishap. Doing a boat tour, lunch, ice cream and looking. Tim comes back to Fermilab in the evening, for Rockbottom / UK house food and beer.
27 Wed: Show Tim Fermilab. The D0 outback, DAB, Ring Road, High Rise for lunch and views. Tim goes back to Chicago

29 Fri: Soph finishes work
30 Sat: Margie back from Germany. Tim and Soph join up (Hotel 5863). Hancock tower for drink and perhaps food. Night in Chicago.
31 Sun: Beach? Museum of Science and Industry? Night in Chicago.
01 Mon: Hiring a car to go to Lafayette, perhaps via somewhere (Indiana Dunes?) Night with Margie.
02 Tue: A look around Perdue today? Taking the Cardinal from Lafayette (9.50pm) to Washington DC. Route guide and wikipedia entry.
Washington
Washington (wikipedia). Intown uptown inn, Soho room. Visit: George town, White house, reflecting pool, Lincoln memorial, Albert Einstein Memorial, the mall, United States Capitol(visit), Smithsonian Institution owns museums.

New York, New York
MTA trip planner, 225 E 17th St Again Explorer pass. Possible todos: Visit the Rockefeller centre, Times square, Chrysler, Rock, Empire, Central park, Statue and Ellis, Museum of Modern Art, UN, twilight bike tour(bike the apple (tour E), bike'n'roll), Guggenheim (outside), HopHop bus tour
06 Sat: 11:25am, 88 Northeast Regional to NYC (2:45 pm). Hotel 17. Stroll around the area of hotel. Late afternoon/evening in downtown NY: Time Square, maybe a night bus tour. Go up the Rockefeller at night for the lights.
07 Sun: Empire state during the morning. Hang out and nosey around East village. Then make our way to the village for the Bike tour (late pm). Soph likes the look of the Skyline at twilight one, which is $65 (about the cheapest). It has to be this day, if we agree we should book on Bike the Big Apple's web site.
08 Mon: Go to the UN first thing(opens 9:45 am), costs $13.5 ($9 student with ID). A museum/gallery in the afternoon. Chrysler bldg and Grand central station are close, followed by central park. Maybe the Rose centre for Earth and Space? Soph wants to see their planetarium.
09 Tue: Brooklyn day. The Botanical garden has free entry on Tuesdays. Also, Prospect Park, the Park Slope Historic District and Brooklyn Heights Historic District might be worth looking at.
10 Wed: Early morning to Statue of Liberty. Ellis island immigration museum. The guides recommend to plan a whole day for this.
Boston

11 Thu: 11.00am, 172 Northeast Regional to Boston (3.15pm)
12 Fri: Day in Boston Junjie's mobile: 630 362 1646. Qiong (his wife): 630 362 0903 Qiong studies at MIT, lives on/near Purrington St. This is where Junjie will be staying. We could look round MIT, get the red line 'T' (metro) across to Central Square and then onto Harvard Square. Each stop is 15 minutes walking distance. Junjie would like to look round Harvard with us if we go - he has never been.
Beacon Street is famous for its old buildings. Boston Common is nice. We should definatly go to Faneuil Hall Marketplace, there's a market and you can eat all kinds of foods. Near to the New England Aquarium, its possible to take boat trips out into the bay. Sometimes there are whales out there.

14 Sun: UA 535 Departure: 11:41, arrival: 13:20. Junjie isn't on this flight, his leaves at ~12. Need to book a night, Soph would like to see the HI hostel if we havn't already
